Default Tec-3R

I keep reading the news about the AEM EMS, and plug and play is definitely a great way to go with a electronics mod.. but, i'm sticking with the TEC-3R from Dyno Works, being as Dave has one on his car (THE fastest SRT4) and also because he has a few HUNDRED dyno passes to tune the TEC-3R for the SRT4.

tec 3 is great but we cant be sure it will be better than the AEM when its released. if the AEM ends up being what its supposed to it will be a better sytem than the tec3 because it wont need to be customized to work on the SRT but will have the same tunability of the tec3.

Well, for me, the TEC-3R will be tuned for my EXACT needs, so I am very happy... but if it was a few months down the road from now, and the AEM EMS was available and I hadn't already purchased a TEC-3R, I would be very interested in the AEM. But knowing I got the top guy in the field tuning the TEC-3R, I am confident in it.

Unless you plan on building a flat out race car i would stay away from TEC. We have a tec3 on our WRX and the amount of time and labor to install it is the easiest part of the job. You have to change the ignition system, its all crank based so you need to install all kinds of wild stuff. If you are going to have dave tune your car, be prepared to spend some serious $$$. Just my 2c.

Hmmm, i've already spent some very serious $$ on the car, and YES, Dave is definitely tuning my car. He has the TEC on his own car and he's got lots and lots and lots of runs programmed for it for our car, and specifically for the GT35RDBB (stage 4 turbo kit) that I am having installed, so I am confident in HIM and in the TEC, thanks

Project Blue is being ran by a tech 3..

fine tuning is going to cost money.. but a general tune is pretty simple with it

Dave has worked on tuning the TEC3 maps a lot, and has a ton of experience with it. It's great for tuning when you also have your own dyno.

If the AEM actually does come out, it will be nice to have another option. But it's been "almost" finished for quite some time now. Brings to mind the saying that better things are always around the corner. And in this case, it's not really better since DynoWorks has the TEC3 so well tuned in. The main advantage is that it should be plug and play, but the TEC isn't too difficult to get working on an SRT-4.

If you buy the TEC3 from Dyno Works, it will have fully tuned programs already on a cd from Dave's (Dyno Works owner) cars' many runs. No paying extra for fine tuning, it's already done.
