Default Stage 3 timing (right?)

Just got my scan gauge hooked up. Did a 3rd gear run from about 60 mph. Was getting 19 degrees at first and went to 20. Basically 20 at redline and stayed right in that area.

Also am getting slight knock retard. Going into 4th gear outta 3rd it went to 1 degree knock retard for a second or .5 to for a second. Not sure if this is good or not! So what does everyone else get and is slight knock like this normal or is something wrong?

Sounds right to me... my S3R was always picky, and always seemed a little sluggish out of HOM.

How about the knock? Is this normal? I've read that it's ok to see this amount of knock at some point but it shouldn't go over 3 degrees.

I haven't measure hom yet. Car's torn apart right now and half of it is at DCR. But once I get it back together I'll recheck and post up.

Well I didn't have a catch can hooked up for a long time which caused a lot of oil build up in my intake manifold. So with S3R I was seeing a little knock every now and then and I believe that was the cause of it. It IS very sensative, because I hardly ever heard the knock, but it would turn things down at the first chance of it.

I see, the catch can thing could of been my case as well then. I just pulled off my intake manifold a few days ago and it had a film of oil in it along with the ports in the head. Probably the cause of it.

Well just to bump again!
Been looking around and it seems most people get around 25 degrees of timing off of HOM while I was getting the most of 21 degrees with a brief knock retard of 1 - 1.5 as I shifted into 4th gear.
Mods where S3 off of hom, b&b turboback no cat, psi fi intake running on denso iridium itv22's. Not sure why the timing seemed to be low compared to others?
