Default Predator or Trinity

Hi,

I am a new SRT-4 owner and am looking to upgrade my car further. I bought the 04 srt with a 3in side exit exhaust, gutted cat, and a perrin short ram intake. I was looking to upgrade the turbo down the road though currently I am saving for it. I was itnerested in getting a Predator though was confused in getting this or the Trinity. I was looking on Diablosport's website and found that the Trinity will allow you to view things like EGT and Air/fuel though would require buying additional components. I was wondering, is there a difference in buying one over the other for a nearly stock SRT-4? Also, their site states tunes of 91 Octane + and other sites state tunes of 93 Octane. Do they give an extra stock tune over and beyond what the Predator comes with? Are there programming concerns if my computer runs off of Vista?
Finally, I have experience tuning with an old AFC, if I wanted to make small changes to the air/fuel in the 93 Octane setting, is it similar (considering using a a/f guage to help tune)?
Thanks for any and all insight you may have.

I hate responding to my own post but, I need to tell you all what an experience I have had with John at PTperformance.com. I emailed him regarding my the same question I posted here on what unit to buy and boy what great help and guidance I got!! This is the first time I have ever dealt with Ptperformance and I know my future pay checks will be directly forwarded to them in my persuit for speed.
Thanks a lot John and I will be speaking with you again very soon!!

If I was going to buy either one of them Id go with the Diablo simply because of the amount of people using it over the Trinity system. Makes it a lot easier to find help tuning when there are a few people in your area running it whereas you might need company direct guidance for something like the Trinity.

That being said, they are both great at what they do and would suffice for almost all of us who just want the most out of our dd!

i have the trinity. the real time gauge display is really helpful. look at your egt's, knock, boost, charge temp, coolant temp, etc in real time. but other than that i think both the predator and trinity are the same thing.

As I understand they are the same thing indeed. How do you like the trinity H22? Is it really worth the extra 400+ dollars? I guess as a replacement for the scanguage and a DSP its worth 800 bux... Can you post pics of it in action? Maybe a few of the menu screens and the guage display?

Its only $225 more than the Predator, they've dropped the price.

i like it a lot. i think it's pretty neat to have all those gauges telling you whats going on. i got a bad tank of gas at a shell gas station 2 weeks ago and the trinity was detecting knock as i was driving home and normally it wouldn't be knocking. it wasn't much knock so i wouldn't be able to detect it otherwise. i was thinking of getting a egt gauge earlier this year but now i don't need it since the trinity displays it right in front of you. the price now i think it's worth peoples consideration in getting. i can take a few pics of it for you.

I bit the bullet on the Predator long before there were any sort of reviews, or before it really became a "hit," so to speak, and am damn happy I did. I absolutely love the DSP; however, with the Trinity I would like to see some reviews first. I have a scangauge (tbh, I think Aeroforce is a less than desirable company) so getting rid of that thing would be greatly appreciated in my eyes, and I'd like to free up a pod.

That's pretty sweet...for shit like oil pressure (pressures in general) do they offer sensors to accurately read them like Aeroforce does? Having like 8 gauges in my car drives me nuts.

i quote this from duster360:
"Since the SRT-4 only has an Oil switch that's closed when oil pressure is above 5psi and outputs close to 5v, the oil Pressure PID always reads something crazy high like 120psi. Thats because the PIDs is scaled for the sender's v/psi

If you swaped out the oil switch for the LX oil pressure sender, it would output a variable voltage to the PCM and the Oil Pressure PID would work just fine."

Hey H22 How why do you have a CEL? How about some pics of the diag screen? Just because you have a CEL of course?
