Ok so I went to get my 04 srt4 inspected failed because of the stage 2 . I have the code scrubber and it wasn't working .. just sent it out to be tested but anyways after it failed I went to advance auto to get the codes and went home did research .. well few days later I decide to scan the car again and the scan tool powers up but won't communicate with the car . I tried 3 different scanners. Car runs beautiful. Any input would be great . Thanks guys
The problem is that the staged computers don't gather the data that the emission places like to read. It doesn't "fail", but rather it says not available for testing. The end result is that you don't get your passed emissions.
Every other year I have to put the stock injectors, map/tip, and ECU back on in order to pass emissions. I go get tested and put then put the other parts back on.
I'm having this problem with the stage 3. Can I get away with just doing injectors, map/tip, and ecu as well? Also, do I need to drive the car for a while before I get retested?
I read there is a code scrubber that you wire in and it clears the 3 auto tranny codes and passes emissions. ... but anyways my problem is the obd2 won't communicate
ACRediculous - I'd recommend doing some research on sykedecutuning.com prior to sending them anything. There's a multi-page thread on here where multiple customers complain of the lengthy turnaround and poor customer service. I've not had any experience with them personally, but beware.
I've used duster360 for my tunes for a few years now and have had great success. While he's a little opinionated sometimes, he gets the job done and has great communication.
I don't mean to stir anything up but how is it that I passed emissions not once but TWICE with my stage 1 pcm- and I live in nazi California??? (As far as I know the previous owner also passed emissions testing for several years with stage 1 as well)
Stage PCM used to be the surefire pass up until a year or two ago. Now most fail for the exact reason they used to get a free ride,,their Cat monitor comes up "NA".
You've gotten lucky so far but it's only a matter of time.
Waaaaait a minute. That makes sense why each time I've taking it for testing they always ask me if I recently have removed the battery! That Cat sensor is showing up as "not ready". I always tell them no, but I guess they shrug it off and pass me! Lol
Thanks all for the input everyone. Here's what I'm looking at. I'm giving Syked a chance. If it doesn't work, then I can always go to someone else. I'm not doing a performance tune. The "Scam" thread got solved and deleted. It was 3 pages of fixing a single person's issue (which got resolved) and 7 pages of complaining about usps. There are also threads posting positive things too. Let's not just focus on the bad and try to take in all the info before making a decision. I'll note my results here and we'll move on.
Well I have another question. Just got me a diablo intune and had a problem with it communicating with the car, so I turned off the code scrubber and it now works and reads my car. So I tried to install the 91 tune and it failed but it wrote my stock tune back to the car . But my question is why would it fail? I want to go e85 soon.
That is a good question. Chances are it is somehow related to the code scrubber. Devices that tap into the OBD and/or ignition system have notoriously been problematic for tuning devices. It could also be a problem with that POS intune. Your better off with a dsp or trininity. If there is a God, the individual(s) responsible for developing the Intune beyond a sticky note in the garbage will be severely punished in the afterlife....
Besides the speed of the intune (omfg it's sooo slow!) what are the other issues that make it a pos? It's the only hand held I've ever used. The other tunes I've used have been via laptop and custom cables.
It is slow as hell to boot. Last time I used one (~1 year) it took almost 5 minutes from plugging it into the obd2 port to actually being able to log with it.
I had to reboot it every time I would want to start a new log. The first log would work, the second would never reconnect to the tool. Had to reboot and wait another 5 minutes.
I also had issues where it would only log for a minute and then stop.
The touch screen was terrible as well, not very responsive imo. They deny it, but if your going to try and make your product look like an Apple device, the least you could do is also *borrow* the feel and responsiveness of one.
I didn't realize the InTune was that bad. I bought my predator within a couple weeks of Diablosport releasing it for the SRT4. It's kind of big and bulky, but I still use it to this day.
The predator is awesome, minus the fact that it cannot log an external input, it always worked flawlessly for me. If you want to log an external input with a predator there are ways to do it. One specifically way is to add in the missing input wires to the pcm harness for inputs like the second knock sensor that read 0-5v. Then just log that pid as well...(This does not work for every pcm)...

Just kind of annoying that I bought this and the tune won't write to the car ... i want to go e85 and get a custom tune but I need to make sure the intune is going to actually work on my car before spending more money for the e85 tune and injectors
Yeah, your not alone. The new Intune also has problems with a feature that was advertised as a selling point; the ability to modify a tune from the handheld. I sorta would understand a bug or two in an obscure feature, but when issues pop up on features you are actively marketing I have no choice but to question if any real testing was performed. Just go look at their forums for lulz... And I am sure somebody is going to say that I should give them a break, but they have established a clear pattern of releasing products before they are fully tested. The ones who suffer are the consumers. All Diablo cares about is being first to market, that is what is in every email they send out. How about, first to market with a fulling working product... What Diablo needs to do is create a bug bounty program so that people can at least be compensated for being unpaid beta testers for products that are supposed to work right out of the box.
Throwing out a quick update. Emissions passed no problem and Syked had good communication throughout the process. There you go! Everything worked out great.
I used the intune to update everything. The latest updates do seem to help.
It boots in about 30 sec for me. The touch screen is a little clunky, but overall I thought it worked fine. Creating a log took a while.
