New car, flashed - SRT Forums

I have a 2003 SRT that I just recently got and the owner said he had it tuned. He said a different gears it holds different psi, and at 5th, it holds 16psi. I have yet to hold anywhere near 16, more like 12, but it does peak at 16psi. I didnt even know you could tune to different gears. But it does sound like the wast gate opens and I lose boost, or I have a boost leak. I dont know, but I had a WRX that I had 16psi running through and when it hit 16, it held, no matter what gear.

I guess I would start with a boost leak test?

Is that wastgate sound and boost surge normal?

Is there programs and hardware I could use to flash with SRTs? I flashed my own maps on my old WRX. Thanks.

Yes you can tune boost by gear. The only tuning software that has a single user interface would be SCT PRP. Or get a Diablosport tuner and have a CMR tuner do it for you.

Straight pipe Borla exhaust and a crappy aftermarket intake. Boomba bov and 557cc injectors. I was looking up the Diablo Tuner, but would the SCT PRP be like Romraider in the Subaru world?

I dont remember if romraider lets you do any actual tuning or if it just lets you transfer maps.

The SCT PRP lets you change almost whatever you want in the PCM.

On one of them I could change the parameters but I mostly just took already tuned maps and flashed them.

And whats the difference between a pcm and a ecu? Just named different?
