Default Need help best cost effective route to go???

So i now have a 03' with a .57 trim A/R 60 garret turbo pushing 20 psi. the car runs great with the exception of first gear spit and sputter. The car has a built motor and port and polished head with F.I.C. 625cc injectors and a Apexi SAFCII for tune on a stage 0 pcm.

The question is a local guy has a Stage 2 pcm for sale here for $250. The car runs great Via AEM wideband with the exception of first gear? Besides i don't trust the piggy back SAFCII.

What would i gain from buying the stage 2 PCM? Does the DSP work the same on my Stage 0 pcm as it does on the stage 2 pcm? would i be wasting my money buying the stage 2 pcm???

thnaks,
jason

Cost effective in the short term might go to the S2 but only if it includes 3bar sensors. In the long term, though the DSP will be the over all winner.

The spit and sputter are definately the 625 + SAFC but the S2 won't do a whole lot to improve that, yet the DSP can get your injectors programmed into your PCM and completely eliminate it.

The biggest advantages the Dsp gives you is choice.

You can decide to add 3 bar sensors or just keep the boost under 20psi. Its your choice.

Even if you didn't tune with it, the DSP's comprehensive datalogger gives you infinately more information to evaluate your tune and improve it. Logging Knock, RPM, TPS, Timing, ect really opens your eyes to the "quality" of your tune. Often once you've seen a log, a tune you've once thought was great, really stinks. Whether you fine tune the 93tune, stock tune, or pay for a custom tune, its your choice.
