Default Major missfire/car shutsoff when shifting to 4th. HELP.

so i had some freeway pulls last nite with my buddies.

25psi. 50t. crower s2 cams. full bolt ons. 2 m5 nozzles of meth. race gas. 105oct SCT race map.

id go thru 2nd thru 3rd fine, but once i shifted into 4th or into mid 4th, my car would cut completely out, missfire (if i gave it gas after itd misfire and not go anywhere) then the car would completely shut off.

we switched coil packs w/ a basically brand new coil pack. did another pull, and did it again. misfire shifting into 4th, cutout, then shut off.

im completely stumped.
new stock coil basically.
mopar 7.5mm wires

and i have about 2k mile old 4306s that gave me no issue at any point in time.

only does it shifting into 4th, and no other gears.

i did a few runs earlier in the day on pumpgas/23psi and had no issue.

im stumped. what would cause it to cut/missfire so bad and then shut whole car off?

mike

check your plugs, take a close up pic (use the macro mode - the flower mode on the digital cam) then post on here.

I don't think it was the plugs. I swapped my coil onto it and it ran fine right after. Then he did a pull on the race gas tune again, and it went out again... Waited what? Five minutes? Then it ran fine home, right Mike? Sounds electrical to me. I am thinking Cam position sensor or something to that extent. In the time we swapped my coil on, it could have cooled enough to be ok... I wish it was throwing a CEL.

ya did the pull, cut out and died.

swapped coils, went for another run and same thing.

no cel...is that because of the SCT hides them?

As far as I know, SCT only turns off overboost codes and such.

But after the second time, you waited what five minutes and you could drive the car home right?

sounds ecu related, if it happened in any other gears i would think other wise, i don't see any other way of it being proprietary to just 4th gear.....

But the car wouldn't run correctly afterwards in any gear. Mike, try swapping the tunes. Just for shits and giggles and see what happens.

yea.

it only happened after i switched to my 104oct SCT race map.

ima need to talk to nemiro about that...

on a side note, i use to have issues shifting to 4th way back in my sst days. id shift fast to 4th...and it would just blow-out. as if i popped an IC hose off. id get off the gas, then get on and itd be perfectly fine.

stumped to say the least.

i got THREE nails in my tire last nite...so i cant drive the car right now till its fixed sinces its dead flat.
