Default Know anything bout SnapOn Solus?

I borrowed my friends Solus and I figured out how to make and save movies but I can't figure out how to get them onto a computer. He said something about having to download SnapOns free software to be able to read the files but I can't find it on their site. Also, I assume I use this USB printer looking cable to get it on the computer? When I hook it up to my laptop it doesn't even register as seeing the Solus or anything. Do I have to turn that port on with the Solus kinda like you tell a digital camera you are connecting to a computer?

Maybe 10 years ago. Here is alink for you. The only "better" Snap On scan tool than a Solus is a Modis. Costs 8 grand where the Solus costs 4 grand.

Well I have never seen one so I can't pass judgement on it but I do know the Solus is a highly regarded scan tool. If you know what you are doing (which I don't) this thing is all you could ever need to tune/diagnose a car. The tool is almost 4 grand and then the updates are about another 500 not to mention how much all the keys cost for different brands. I know one of these keys is 1000 bucks by itself.

as someone who has worked as a tech, and invested $10k in tools, i have to say that snapon is overrated when it comes to most things. i do have a few snapon tools, but most are specialty tools. there is no reason to get snapon wrenches when professional series craftsman are 1/2 the price and the same quality

You only have 10k in tools as a tech?........I don't yet have a scanner, haven't decided whether to go Modis or Determinator, and I have 45k, plus my snap-on box.

Go Matco, Princess Auto, Canadian Tire, snap-on if neccessary. I personally like the snap-on boxes better than any of the other brands, and the Modis is rockin, but other than that, way too overpriced and matco is better IMO.
