Default How accurate is the NEO kPA reader???

Well im a little freaked... i put on an electronic boost gauge and i have mixed reactions about it... it seems sluggish. my stock mechanical one was so antsy to move around. anyways at wot throttle im at 17/18 psi max on the electronic gauge. come to 15 near redline. sounds normal. my stocker would say spike 20 and come to 16 but the dude @ prosport said the electronic gauge read more accurate. cool. So i did a kPa conversion. My gauge says 179 181 at spike and comes to 135... Meanin im spiking 25.3 pounds of boost WTFF and fallin to 20psi..no wayy right?!?!? Ive had it for more then 2 years like this. My engine should of went kaboom a while ago no??

kPa is absolute pressure. So you have to subtract Barometric pressure from it. Barometric pressure varies on your altitude and weather. Here in central Il the baro swings from 14.2-14.7psi.

180kPa = 26.25psi - Baro~14.5psi = 11.75psi Boost,,,,,26.25-18psi of boost mean the Baro would have to equal 8psi which is impossible.

135kPa = 19.58psi - Baro~14.5psi = 5psi Boost

doesn't seem right to me. Does the guage or neo have a pressure sender or what?
If so, where do you have them mounted?

Well i had a professional install it. Im sure everything is hooked up right. But there is no mechanical gauges or senders just electronic connections. I thought it would read it from the ecu.
