Default Fuel being cut off?

Here is my problem and I hope someone can help me on this one. I got a Kinetic wastegate back in February, installed it, and set it for 15 pounds. I took off my exhaust not too long after, so I am just running the factory downpipe. I noticed after I did that, that it would boost 16 and sometimes even 17psi. As soon as it hit above 15psi, my car would begin to pop continuously until I let off the gas. Sounded like the fuel was being cut off. So I did my research and came up with a post somewhere about how the stock pcm is tuned for 15psi and if boosted over 15psi the pcm was programmed to stop delivery of fuel. Which all of that makes sense. I was just curious if anyone had anymore information about this. I was thinking larger injectors, stage 1, and a little tunning. Any advice or knowledge is greatly appreciated.

PCM controlled boost???
Get a Map Clamp and set it to 4.85 volts. If that does not fix it then the problem is something else. This is all asuming you are running on a stage 0 ECU.

I'm still running stage 0. But I am ordering stage 1 pcm and stage 2 injectors in the next week. A friend of mine was telling me it had to be with the pcm, which when he was explaining it to me made sense. I checked my plugs today and they are still in fairly good shape but I will probably change them out anyways, I need to change out the plug wires though. I appreciate the input and anymore suggestions/knowledge is definitely awesome. Take it easy guys.
