Default Dtech question

this probably sounds like a noob question but ive been reading for like an hour now and if anyhting a little more confused. Ive been looking into getting a Dtech but how does it know that i have a 3 bar map sensor and not the stock. Since the voltage is different it wouldnt read right. I have a clamp as of right now but with my meth i really want to get a good tune.
