dude, ditch the octane booster. have you ever read the back label? each bottle will treat like 10 gallons, and it says it increases octane by like 7 points, which later in the text it says that 10 of those points equals one full octane point, its a waste of money, its a gimic. and if you have a lot of knock on stock turbo at 15psi, you might have a lot of boost leaks, or you might need to recalibrate the parameters in the dtec for knock.

i just might need to recalibrate it. i did all of what the the sticky said but maybe im missing something. i bought it used also and i zerod out everything. the nos race booster has more like 25 points or somthing like that but yeh its a waist of money. i looked at it like every little helps.

on the DTEC? the knock reading is super sensitive out of the box. I was seeing 2 to 3 counts of knock at idle according to the dtec, but my aeroforce gauge was happy, so i turned down the sensitivity and all is well.

Speaking about the knock light , i actually datalogged it 1 day and i notice that when im on 93 octane from 3000rpm to redline in a 3rd gear pull i noticed that the knock reads counts of 10 to as high as 30 @ 24psi on my stage 3 .... well when im in HOM and im on C16 AT @24PSI i barely read any knock ill get 5 or 6 if im lucky in the same gear at the same rpm all the way til redline so my guess is that the knock actually reads right somewhat... i have so many questions and im happy that this thread was open there was alot of un answreed questions ive had to ask that i couldn't get an answer so hopefully nobody post-whores this one...

i dont deny that the knock sensor is somewhat correct, i just think that its more sensitive than our stock knock sensor.

I'd say your DTEC is reading knock wrong. You should also make sure your stock knock sensor is tightened good. If you showing that much knock and it's actually true I'd say your motor would be toast by now. Even 5 to 6 knock is considered too much. are you holding HOM throughout the gears or does it cut out. If your holding it than your def. getting a wrong Knock reading. Usually knock occurs in the higher rpms not at like 3000 i'd say your getting a falty reading.

the dtec doesnt have its own knock sensor, it utilizes the stock one, and it is very sensitive from the factory settings. the pcm has complex logarithms that filter out noise and vibrations when monitoring the knock sensor, which the dtec is similar, but you have to set how sensitive it is, especially if you have solid mounts, remove the bs chain, etc.

yes im holding hom all the way to redline on Sunoco C16
My settings are at 0 on edit maps I'm waiting to get my tuner wideband repaired...

( Example as what it is close )

Sunoco C16 @ 23-24PSI TO REDLINE

3000RPM = 0
3500= 0
4000= 0
5000= 2
5500= 4
6000= 8
6500= 4

93 PUMP GAS @ 22LBS

3000RPM = 4
3500= 8
4000= 18
5000= 22
5500= 22
6000= 23
6500= 19

As far as holding HOM I notice that if i press the HOM button and im on 93 i will hold high octane mode til about 4000 rpm if i start from 2900rpm and up as soon as i get to 4000 i read 30 and its usually around 25-30 on the knock where i usually get kicked out of HOM for good and then it drops back down to like 10-15 on knock and rises .. i datalog it so i see how everything works ...
