Default DTEC FCBC: Knock light - can it be replaced with WB ?

I was wondering something...since I can't hook up a wideband to my DTEC FCBC (no more room in the back of the brain), would it be possible to ditch the knock light and use it's port to hook up the wideband ?

What good is the knock light to the DTEC anyway ? I don't beleive it's a necessary hardware to make it work, what do you beleive ?

I have mine stashed away under the dash anyway, I don't want to see it, so I'd rather trash it out and put something usefull in it's place if the DTEC does not need it at all cost.

What doyou say ?

If you ditch the knocklite you will not get a rpm reading on your DTEC. With no rpm reading how will you pull fuel at different rpms or will you pull fuel based on TPS only.

I bought my DTEC used and the knocklite was crap I had no rpm signal and instead of buying a new one at $120 I replaced it with a $70 tach driver. The strange thing is when I was looking for a knocklite I had people offering me used ones that they were not going to install on their DTEC's. Like I said I assume you need the rpm signal to tune and the knocklite acts as a tach driver.
