do you need to purchase the pc interface when you buy the dsp or is it just additional if so what capabilities does it add

the interface kit allows you to transfer data logs from the dsp to a pc. it also allows you to update the dsp as updates are available. i'm not sure about other vendors but modern performance now offers the dsp and interface kit all for $379. i paid $426 shipped early this year. several vendors offer the dsp now and you can get custom tunes. check out the vendor section for links to their sites and see what they offer with the purchase.

Being able to update the Predator and more importantly, download datalogs is very important.

I've never bought a "PC interface kit" and you don't need to buy it from a DS vendor.

I had already owned 2 USB/Serial adapters so I didn't need a 3rd one.(Walmart or any electronic store carry's them,,ebay too)
Also a power supply isn't needed because with a laptop, you can just take the pc out to the car and use the OBD power.
If you don't have a laptop AC/DC power supplies are readily availible from RadioShack locally or much cheaper online like newegg,amazon ect.


With some vendors charging up to $50+ for the kit, its a bit much.
