After installing the Apexi NEO my car idles a little rough. When I look at the RPM's they aren't jumping up or down, but at it doesn't idle smooth it goes up and down up and down, like you hear it but the RPM's aren't affected.
I currently have it set to MONITOR OFF, I will be getting it tuned in a week or two.
I bought an SAFC II from turboevolution last week, and took it to the performance shop here to have them install. They said it would not work right, because it is designed to work with a 0-5 volt system (japanese), and the dodge is 3-7 volts. I see that people here are running them, and I'm just hoping someone could help me out.
Also, I got a profec B to help control my boost, it had been spiking 20 then bleeding to 13 with RAGE wastegate, then we put the stock wastegate back on and we kept experiencing the same problems. We unhooked the wastegate entirely, and it was boosting out of control, so I have no idea what the problem is. It can make the boost, just can't hold it. thanks so much for any help!
I'm slowly going back to S2 stock turbo. I'll most likely end up removing the SAFC but I may just play with it to see what leaning out S2 does as far as performance and driveability.
If I want the car to run exactly as stock, zeroing out all the settings in HI/LO will basically achieve this right?
Yeah try going back through everything just to make sure. Did you work on anything else at the time you were installing the afc? Just makin sure you didn't accidentally pull out a vac line or somethin when installing
i put a safc 1 in my car with the tach driver and im not reading revs also i cant get 100% throttle in kinda flutters around 80% ive checked all my connections i dont know if its because its the safc1, i havent seen other srts with one
Is it the old school one with the 5 knobs or the one that's silver/blue with buttons instead of a dial? If the latter, then I'm using the same thing and it works perfectly. Double check your connections on your tach adapter, provided you're using the right one (part # 8913) and let us know what you come up with. Also, when the safc's are set to 6 cylinder mode they will not give you the propper rpm readings or throttle position come to think of it...check that out too. Make sure it's set to 4 cylinder mode not 6
I don't quite have time to read the whole thread so I'm goin to ask, has anyone else run into two green wires with an orange stripe at the orange PCM connector? I don't know which one to use. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
In my personal experience, DO NOT go by the color of the wire, as it was sometimes different on different years/cars. For instance, I have 4 plugs plugged into my ecu and a lot of my colors were not correct. Then again, I have a turbocharged automatic pt cruiser. I used the exat pin out locations as described in the first page, disreguarding wire color, and my install came out flawless. BTW typically the green/orange wire I THINK is the map sensor wire if I remember right

Yea, I was on the wrong plug. That's why when working late it is always good to stop when you run into a problem. Which is what I did. Went down in the morning and immediately knew what the problem was, pulled up the correct plug and BAM! There was the wire I was looking for. Unfortunately I was sold a bad SAFC so it didn't matter. It was burnt. I'll leave a picture for everyone to see. So, we're in the process of taking care of that little problem in a civilized manner and I'm shopping for a new controller.
This is just a very small portion of the circuit board.
Well...on the plus side I suppose you killed two birds with one stone. Just sucks when you're the owner of those two birds! Hopefully you get everything figured out the right way and nobody has to get killed again over a fuel controller

LOL. Yea. Curious. Think it can be fixed or should I just focus on replacing it?
