Ive checked and rechecked the SAFC wiring to all connections aswell as all of the settings on the SAFC. When you start the car it idles fine, give it gas however it comes to idle again the sputters, regains idle then dies. Go back in to check the etc settings and all of the sudden its on hotwire, 6cyl and northeast so i rest it to pressure, 10 in/10 out and 4cylinder then it does the same again not to mention it throws the p0108 code. Have swapped map sensors and have relocated the gray safc connection closer towards the map sensor itself. The unit is zeroed out and its a stock pcm...any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated
Sounds like the safc itself may not be holding the memory once you've entered it in. Did you purchase the unit new or used? If new, I'd probably take it back and ask for another one...if used...well...you might be SOL...

Ok I got up this morning and tried to read this whole thread so I wouldn't repost a question thats been asked like so many others, and I got up to around page 50 and just said forget it, because people are just asking the same questions over and over again.
I need to know what owners with 05 SRT's are doing about there TIP sensor that are stage 0. I had a dasmopar map/tip clamp that worked flawlessly but of course the Neo doesn't exactly wire up the same.
Or even better, because I don't mind reading, point me to the page that not only discusses this but gives a solution to the problem also.
what exactly are you looking for in terms with the tip sensor? I didn't know they had anything to do with wiring up an safc??? The only options you have to wire in are the map sensor and the tps sensor...no tip tho

Well, from my understanding the 03-04 weren't having a problem with the tip sensor seeing boost because they were plugging the red line line off the coldside pipe. But the 05's dont have a solution for this other then fades tip mod. So I was curious what srt's owners with 05 were doing to resolve the issue , because as you stated, the SAFC doesn't wire into the tip at all so its not seeing boost either. Well from what I hear, on 05's,the TIP sensor is very sensitive and the pcm freaks out when ever its seeing to much boost from the tip sensor. I never had this problem because I've always had a map/tip clamp, but now all I have is a SAFC with no way to wire into the tip sensor so its not seeing full boost either.
that's kind of the whole point of the safc...it hides boost to fool all the sensors into thinking it's running less so that the pcm gives less fuel and you lean out. I would think that if you cap the red line it actually would hinder you with the use of an safc. The tip sensor works in conjunction with the map sensor because if the map changes then the tip changes as well. So with the use of an safc you alter the signal from the map and I would imagine it would alter the tip once the tip sees the change.
ok so my TPS % is jumping around from 0% up to 30% while cruising around.
is it suppose to be like that? it is tapped into my map sensor per the instructions, but it seems very inaccurate since it is jumping % all over the place. can someone tell me if that is normal.
when comparing to my apexi AVCR, the TPS% shows a smooth accurate percentage..but that is based off of the TPS wiring, not the map.
so if the safc is ran off the map and not TPS, how does it know when it is over xx% on the TPS sensor in order to switch from low to high?
its supposed to do that. watch your boost guage/afc( tps %), they should follow each other. afc should stay in low map while in vac. soon as you go into boost it will switch to high map if its set up right. are you stage 0,1,2,3 ? whats your high/ low map % set at?

im s0 w/ a SCT.
its been a few months since i installed the afc so im not too sure. im pretty positive i had the high map come on at 40% throttle tho.
well if you say its normal, ill believe ya. just seems odd. like i said, if i hold the pedal at a constant level, the "tps%" will actually jump around from like 0-15%. nothing stays steady.
i will have to try and keep an eye out to see how the tps jumps when i go WOT.
also, what is the percentage that the "TPS%" is actually calculating since it is now hooked up to the map and not the tps?

as long as the throttle % read by the s-afc is below your set high throttle %, when in closed loop, i dont see a problem.
you can always set your high throttle percentage a little higher to help make sure that it wont go into high mode when it fluctuates.
I skimmed through this whole thread but didnt see anything for the 08 caliber srt 4. Has anyone dug into this thing yet as far as installing a Apexi AFC? I tried to see if it was similar to installing one in the SRT neon but the PCM is different. Can anyone offer some tips or white-ups on the 08 SRT Caliber?
PS, I will be using the Old school Apexi AFC controller, not the SAFCII or neo
Got an safc2 sittin here waiting to be installed. Waiting to get my hands on a tach driver. My question is, can I install it without the tach and just zero it out until it comes? Or do I have to wait until I have the tach as well? Also, if I wanted to use it as a mapclamp for the time being would that be possible by just pulling fuel globally? Thanks!

you can hook up the black, red and brown wires (power/ground) for now. without wiring the rest of it (MAP sensor/RPM reference) you can not use it to pull fuel at all.

Ok that's all I really wanted to do. Just want to wire it up to make sure it works since I bought it used. Thanks!
