Default 2.0 bar vs 3.0 bar Map&Tip sensor

I've got Stg2/no toys intake/Exhaust as mods..The dealer put 2.0 map/tip sensors on without me knowing and know my car runs like crap..My A/F at Idle now reads between 16.8-17.8(Way to lean)..Is it safe to drive or should I park it and wait for the new sensors to come in?

No. Wait for the new sensors. They may both use part of the same 0 to 5 volt range but they are not scaled the same. If you're using a Stage 2 computer with the stock sensors it's not as outright dangerous as using the 3 BAR sensor on a stock computer since the S2 will think there's way more boost than there is and inject a lot of fuel but it's still bad. You may be showing lean due to the PCM trying to relearning and adjust (it won't be able to since it's programmed and expecting a 3 BAR sensor) or the fact it is possible to dump so much fuel it can read incorrectly on the wideband.

And the stock sensor is 2.25 BAR and not a 2 BAR sensor.

Or if you still have a stock or Stage 1 computer you could reinstall that since it will work with the S2 injectors. It'll run a little richer but the injectors are only about 18% bigger than stock and the computer will be able to adapt and pull that excess fuel out using the long-term fuel trims. If you wanted to play it really safe after doing that you could also turn the boost down using the S2 WGA adjustment or run a new vacuum line directly from the intake manifold or the compressor outlet to the WGA which would limit you to minimum attainable boost (i.e. WGA spring tension or about 7-8 psi on a S2 WGA set to 4mm pre-load).

I would be going back to the dealership and be finding out why the hell they put in the stock map when they knew you had stage 2. I would be raising some hell over that if they did that to me and made my car run like shit and never told me what they did.

MAP P4510365
TIP P4510366

Dude at the dealer should have a Mopar performance book... Ya, he shouldn't be working there.

Edit: Those are the 3 bar sensors

Sweet, thanks.

I know, he even pulled out the Mopar performance book before he went into the back to talk to some other dude! I was like WTF?! OK forget it... Didn't have that much time on my lunch break.

How's it going with getting 3 bar map to work on the SCT Stuff? (I'm "Aerospheric" over on the SCT forum BTW)... I need to get the e-Manage off my car and pick up another XCal2... wasted the XCal2 I have on my truck.

Oh hey, what's up?!?! I haven't tried everything with the 3 bar yet. I am kinda scared to make my own calibrations for it, it's such a huge change. I am waiting for them to come out with a base tune for 3 bar... That way I just have to fine tune it. Right now I am just on the 2.25 bar sensors running a spike and hold of about 17psi. I am just playing with that having fun. The hard part is getting the damn boost right, so I am off PCM boost playing with everything else. The car is a freak right now. I am on 100 octane. It's so much fun.

I have been too busy tuning trucks with it to do anything with my car. Then I took some time off for my wedding/honeymoon. Been out of the loop on it, playing catc-up now. I've got to get a wideband for the car so I can start tuning it as soon as the intercooler is mounted and the exhaust is done.

If I get everything in and get a tune done for 3 bar before SCT releases one, I'll send you a copy. I'm stock with 91 octane here, nowhere out here has anything higher.

How much did the 3 bar map/tip cost?

P4510365 $90
P4510366 $129

That's through my company... I have to order them direct from Mopar Performance. I would love it if you got the 3 bar up and running. On one of the threads I was in they gave me the map slope for 3 bar it was 60 something on the SCT forum.... but that would mean everything would still be labeled wrong. That's why I kinda want to wait on them. Pick up a AEM wideband, they are cheap and they work great. I just don't know if it's gonna work with the auto enginuity datalogger.

Enjoy married life dude

That is the same price I get when I look it up through my distributor... I thought it looked kind of high. I am going to call my distributor and see if they can get me a better price.

I was looking at the AEM, but I've kind of been leaning towards the Innovate. I'll have to see which will work with the auto enginuity, I need to pick that up too.

Eh it's married life take 2.

Honestly, you won't find it any cheaper... That's Jobber... There is hardly any margin in the parts. I work at a warehouse distributor

Innovative, I have that at work also. It was actually the one I bought first but then I took it back because I didn't want the huge connector hanging under my car. It was also a lot more involved for setting up. So I took it back, got some money, and got the AEM instead. I went with the one that you mount in the car... The XD-16... To much crap to hookup and keep on the car.

Hmm I wonder if you work for the warehouse distributor I use, lol... send me a PM with the company's name.

The XD-16 is what I was looking at. I need like $1350 in parts to finish my car now since the freaking shop I had doing the work doesn't even have a freaking wideband! Now they are telling me that their scan tool is busted too. So I need to buy the 3 bar map and tip sensors, the Autoenginuity w/ enhanced Chrysler module, a wideband, and another XCal2.
