i just ordered some H&R springs and i was wondering if someone is willing to help put them on. or if someone has done springs and knows that i will not need any help and to just tell me to do them myself or if there is a meet sometime soon where we can all meet up and do some installs and i can get them done then... i dont know i am just tired of drivin my 4X4
Ryan, did you register at www.cosrtoc.net yet? If not, that's where all the locals moved our discussion to for the most part.
But anyway, how mechanically inclined are you? Putting on springs isn't hard at all, depending on how experienced you are at working on cars. You don't need experience at doing it really, you just need to not be afraid of taking it apart. If you have a good socket set, that's all you need except for a spring compressor. You can rent one at Auto Zone or Checkers. All you need to do is get the car in the air, jack stands will do. The struts attach with 3 nuts at the top, and 2 big ones at the bottom. After you get them off, compress the springs, and then remove the top hats from the struts. You need a way to keep the strut shaft in place while removing the nut at the top of the top hat. I used vice grips, some people say don't use them because it nicks the strut shaft, but it's at the top where the shaft doesn't enter the strut body anyway. Replace your springs, and put everything back together the way it came apart. Then get the car aligned.
I can help you out... But you'll have to join the line!
Everyone seems to want my help... But that's a good thing! I'm more than happy that people seek my advice and assistance.
Anyway, I'd be more than willing to give you a hand. Honestly, with the right tools (i.e. a spring compressor), you could probably manage by yourself.
Ok, I must first ask, why are you posting on this site?!?
You'll have much better luck on the new site.
So, if you would like some help, I'm available on most weekends. And if you should decide that you would like to try and do it yourself, your more than welcome to contact me with any questions. I also posted a link to the factory SRT-4 service manual on the main coSRToc site under the help section. It's a great reference for service information.

sweet change it and i want to thank everyone for the advise on the springs i will be tryin to put them on as soon as i get them...if i have any problems i will get ahold of one of you guys...
The thing I did with mine was I didn't want to mess with the
spring compressor, so I pulled the struts off and took them to the
shop next to where I work, they swapped out my springs ,
they have all the fancy compressors, and I gave em $50 to do it.
that was faster and easier than me hassling with them.
those compressors can be a pain in the ass !

this is probly what imma do because where i live no one is willing to rent there compressors to me i dont know why its not like imma try break it for them... and i dont have an autozone or checkers here in Walsenburg I HATE THIS TOWN!!! I cant wait for this summer Colorado Springs here i come
it's fairly simple, a 2hr job at tops... the hardest part (above using the spring compressors) is rigging up a tool to remove the top strut screw. I used a deep spark plug socket and I believe a 10mm that went inside...you'll see when you look at the top. Some say you can use an air gun to remove it. I rented the compressor from Autozone for $50 I believe and they gave the full refund when I returned the tool...
