Yeah, I just talked to Brent a few weeks ago. He said he's only running about 260 hp to his wheels, which suprised me. I figured with a setup like his he would be putting more down than that. Sounds like he is doing a major overhaul this winter though...should be nasty when he gets it tuned.

yeah, i went with him to portland this summer to get it tuned at pdx tuning, and i thought for sure over 300hp, but also you have to realize that it was on a mustang dyno, which reads lower hp than other dynos. he puts about 400 some hp at the crank, it's just that he looses a lot of that power through the AWD.

so anyways, are you the guy that brent was telling me about with the other black srt that looks kinda similar to mine?? if so that was kinda funny hearing that my crazy ass friends would run up on your car thinking it was me and put on a show for you.
it was pretty nice having the only black srt in town though, and imagine that you are the only one now, so you definetly get noticed huh? only bad thing is you can't get away with half the shit people with a subaru outback can since there are about a million and one of them running around, but oh well.

so if you are interested in doing stuff with you car when the weather gets better, like driving up the canyons and shooting the shit with car guys, talk to brent and get to know him. our car club is planning on doing a lot this summer, including going to HIN in seattle.

later,
chris

Yep, I'm that guy. I think everytime I pulled into Hastings parking lot I had two or three guys running at my car screaming CHRIS!! CHRIS!! Took me a while to figure out what was going on.

I was also curious if you had any enemies here, because sometimes I get flipped off just driving around minding my business. One time in particular, I was driving by the auto parts store that brent works at and a guy was getting into a blue grand am, but he stood there before he got in his car and flipped me off as I drove by. I figured that he might have thought I was you, but I wasn't sure. I haven't seen any other srt-4's in this entire town besides me. Of course, there are a ton of subies running around.

no, i really never made enemies with people. can't say who it could have been, but then again people had great ways of saying hello (ie giving me the bird). i heard there was a girl that was running around bozeman with a red one. there were two other guys that had srt's, but one sold his red to get a 06 sti, and the other had a blue with a stage 3r turbo and decided that he needs a mustang gt500. there is another blue that i've seen at the autocross events, but never actually met the guy and i never see it out in town.

there are a couple in missoula and i think one in kalispell, its just not many srt owners in montana actually know or get on the forums here. i also noticed that i got better feed back in the northwest section than in the mountain section that we are in right now. plus you can talk to guys in idaho, washington, oregon, and they seem more friendly than the colorado crowd. also when we went to seattle last summer, we met up with people from the forums that live over there and we had a great time.

as far as srt-4's in MT, its gonna be lonely cause you aren't gonna see much more since they stopped production of them in september, that and a lot of people either want something with AWD, something that is classier, or cheaper. our cars fall into a gray area that many montanans aren't inclined to purchase, which is fine by me. that means that the value of the car in montana will be higher.

I actually don't even ski, but the snow here has been insane. I think Bridger opened up a week early because they had so much snow there. I hear Big Sky is busy too. I am more of a warm weather person...this snow gets to me. I would rather be in a climate like you are in right now. How is it down there? Are you coming back to MT for the holidays?

it stays around 60, and i am trying to get up to MT by the 24th. i was refering to go driving up hyalite and bridger, but only when its warmer. you'll probably have to wait til about april before the roads start to clear up, but they are fun to drive.

Yeah, I just talked to a guy with a red 04 here. If I run into him again I will ask if he would be up for it. A meet would be cool once the weather gets nice again.
