Default FS: Hankook Z212 tires (local only)

Thought I would post these here just in case anyone is looking for a nice tire to drive to and from the track.

Four Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 track/street tires. 215/40/17. Used at two track events (Pueblo and La Junta) on my VW GTI (yeah I know! ). They have typical track wear (about 70% remaining), with the left sides a little more worn then the rights. They are very sticky and predictable on the track.

FYI, this is not a stock size tire, but on the track it's not that big a deal. They run about 5.2% off on the speedo but the lower profile keeps the tire from hitting the fender under heavy cornering (which I didn't want to do) and makes for a pretty stiff sidewall. When the speedo reads 60, the car will actually be going 56.9.

New they are $100 each. Selling for $200 for all four.

PM me if you are interested.

Thanks,
Rick

They will definitely work on 7" rim. That's what I was running them on. They fit very nicely with a real stiff sidewall.

These are gret tires. They are what I ran all my track events on last spring and they held up great....even longer than my engine.

Bump for a great guy....

I gotta get rid of these tires! They will fit on the stock wheels (although not really advised, but people have put on 225s with little problems, so 215s should be ok). They will very nicely on a 7" wide wheel.

Anyone, Bueller?

Why don't you advise not putting them on stock wheels. Also, will they fit a lowered car?

Well it's simple really. The stock wheels are 17x6, which is really narrow. If you check the Hankook specs you see that a 215/40/17 has a rim width of 7.0-8.5. So, technically speaking, they are not designed for a 6" wide wheel. However, and this is where it gets shady, a 225/50/16 which has a wider section width by almost a half inch can fit a 6.0-8.0" wheel. The difference is the height of the tire sidewall. More sidewall means more ability to flex onto different wheel widths.

With that said, guys have mounted up 225/45/17s to the stock wheels and not had problems. So, to cover my butt, I am being up front and saying that the tires were not designed for the stock wheels, but they will fit. And there should be no problem on a lowered car, but I can't say for sure since every lowered car is different. I ran 235/40/17s on my SRT4 and it was pretty low, but I had lots of negative camber and I had to roll the rear fender.

Hope that helps.
Rick

Not at the moment, but I'm sure there is something in the classifieds. There always is!
