I started out buy using my 90 degree die grinder with a twistlock
scotch bright pad 180 grit . and smoothed out all the casting bumps
then I work my way into the 600 grit sandpaper wet or dry , i use wet soapy
water to get the final smoothness , then buff with various size buff pads on my die grinder with some of my favotite compounds.
and final out the shine with mothers aluminum polish. !

No it will not turn Blue , but it will dull from time to time, if you do not seal it with some clear.
and if you live in a corrosion prone environment it will corrode.
