INFO: List of Tools/Materials/Part #'s for Some How-To Projects

I get alot of questions on the How To: thread on tools and equipment.This thread will be the tools,part numbers,prices and where to find the tools or required sealant/hardware for projects involving removing installing a head/timing belt oil pump ect. Now i will provide other part#'s and prices for all peoples budget,but please don't try to skimp out "making do with what you got" or trying tools that are not made for the job. Tools are built for these purposes and will make the job easier.

know it say's for 3.3 and 3.8L the screws at the end are the same thread and pitch for our valve cover bolts. all you do is tighten them down. turn the handle and slowly compress the springs until you can remove the keepers. then uncompress the spring! use the adapter below!

Here are some of the sealants and other items we use on the car.

Cam cap - Oil Pump - red anaerobic sealer

Mopar Gasket Maker
(Loctite 518 or Permatex 51813 is the same)

Dabs for valve cover corners - water pump seal - oil pans - black RTV silicone

Mopar Black RTV Silicone
(Permatex UltraBlack is a good substitute.)

Mopar MLS head gasket - brown gasket sealant

Now to seal the head gaskets i would reccomend using these products found at a AutoZone,but im sure most auto parts stores carry these items.

Duplicolor Engine Enamel (aluminum color) used for head gasket if no spray-a- gasket is available.
