Okay, I got a guestion for you guys I was gonna buy stage1, should I just save myself a little money and stick with my stock 03 pcm and just get some 04 injectors to crank the boost up little? I should be able to switch those injectors without any fuel management system right?
just did this mod. reset the computer. fired her up, no codes. drove around, no CEL, no nothing!!! Works absolutely great.
Thanks for this howto.
glad to see its working well, im still without the cel
as far as stage debates there will always be a conflict, I run good times with stage 0 my a/f is 10's in midrange and 11.8 at redline (15 psi) i have no cat and 3 inch exhaust with 3 inch intake. If the engine were to hear ne knock or nething it may think is knock the knock sensor will tell the computer to retard the timing and dump fuel.
but, i did notice something... my gas mileage has gone up significantly. does the car run in some crazy rich mode with the no cat code (p0038 and p0420)

Any '03 should not run the stock pcm if the owner plans to 'mod' it. Buy stage 1 or 2 or 3 and start from there.
yep, it works. I have it used with me 3" dp no cat TBE. but honestly i know this mod from the WRX guys, it was a couple years back when i learned about it.

i thought they placed the non fouler in front of the sensor to block oncoming exhaust air. never seen what they have done just heard.
With my stage 2 turbo and turbo-back exhaust I have yet to get a check engine light and I drive it at high speeds on the autobahn. I had the exhaust shop make a o2 bung and weld it into the side of the exhaust where the cat used to be. I wonder why I don't get a check engine light?

If you have stage 2, or any of the staged upgrades for that matter, you can run without a cat without getting a CEL.

There's someone on Ebay selling this very mod for WRXs for $18ish + shipping...
I know this thread is pretty ancient, but it isn't really the mod's fault.
I was cruising at about 50 in 5th gear for an extended amount of time (about 15-20 minutes) with my e-cutout open with no change in RPMs at all. I reset the code, and I'm now P0133 free again.
I have had this mod for a few months now.
