as if this needs a how to...but its sunday and im not allowed into churches anymore, lol anyhow....we all know how big the antenna is on our cars, i got signals from the argus radio telescopes in new mexico once

What you need; 2 vise grips, a small adjustable wrench, sharpie marker and a pair of bolt cutters (or something similar)
1. Go out to your car and decide how much you want to cut off and mark that spot with the sharpie. ( i took about 7 inches off mine)
2. Remove the antenna from the car with the wrench and take your bad self back in the house.
3. Using the vice grips lock one just below the little ball on the top of the antenna, then use the second one to twist the ball off. its a soft metal so try to be gental on it. (i put a small gouge in mine, oh well)
4. Once the ball is off, use the bolt cutters to cut it at the mark you made previously, you want to be as straight as possible when you cut.
5. Take some sand paper and clean up the end of the antenna, then using the vice grips again grip the antenna and place the ball back on top. I used a small hammer to tap it back down tight.
6. Reinstall it on your car and admire that you spent no money and only 5 minutes of your time to get rid of the fishing poll dodge delivered your car with.
I can snap pics if requested, thanks
richard
edit heres 2 pics showing how much i trimmed off, its actually 10.5 inches and the antenna back on the car...i might trim a bit more...even 10 inches off doesnt make it look short

also...ignore how dirty the car is...its been raining alot..
