I had this problem once afew years ago and never since. Until last night. I had the car parked down a slight incline and the passenger front was the lowest point. I got in the car and turned te defroster on and a pool of water rushed into the passenger front floor. I siliconed it today. Now i hope for the best.

I have never had this issue... I will co and look into preventive measures though. "Catch can for the heater/ a/c box mod"
Just make sure that you all pull your carpets and coat the passenger floorpan with Rhino Liner so it wont rust out in a few years.

Default Glad to see that someone figured this out for me.

For the whole first year I owned the car whenever it would rain I noticed water would drain into the passenger side floor. I looked everywhere except under the windshield vents. When I stopped parking my car on the street, which was a slope toward the passenger side, it stopped. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how the hell the water got in. Now it all makes sense and thankfully I haven't had to deal with any water issues in the last 2 years. Good work though and now if ever becomes a problem I've got an answer on what to do.

I would assume that the cabin air filter mod would help cause some restriction that less water would enter the vent when the water buildup moves around. Yay or nay?

doode, take that cover off, look where I put that red arrow, and you'll see a HUGE crack between the plates - just fill it in with some waterproof RTV sealer and you'll be good to go.

,......and look'n back on it, I think my carpet was wet 'cause my windows were cracked...seat was a LiL wet, too.

I'm gonna go head and put another layer on there anyway, but then I await the next storm for definitive results!!!

aiight, this time it rained AND my windows were all the way up - the leak wasn't gone entirely, but it was reduced to a tiny puddLe!! one more coat should definitely do it!!!

oh yeah i noticed it after car washes too so if you're eager to leak check just grab a water hose and "simulate" the rain :-D
