i would suggest going to a u-pullit and getting one cheao ass alloy rim. Practice sanding taping and painting. I bought one today to practice on(15$) for my soon to be red ass stockers

Does anyone else find this looks like a 1980s Trans Am rim with the middle only painted black. Just the lip black is the way to go IMO.

Here is a pic of how mine turned out, they have been painted for 9 months. They are showing very little wear and only around the lug-nut area so it isnt too bad...

Rattle can Bronze from Autozone...

I did mine today and I'm preety impressed with it. The hardest part to me was the sanding and re-sanding. My hand cramped because I skipped the step when you supposed to take a beer break.
Doesnt look like as professional as Sideck's but I pretty happy with it.
Defenatly make it look better. Or new rims

Pic was taken with phone.
Next is the valve cover. any tips?

There's a H-T in the sticky on painting valve covers.

Well I tried to paint my rims yesterday and ran into a problem. The paint is leaving a dusty cover which I can just wipe or brush off. what is causing this?

well did you sand or scuff the wheels (sounds like you didnt do so well)? did you spray the paint way too far away and way to dry (sounds like you did)? how did you prep/paint them?

Well I sanded each rim for atleast 20 to 25 minutes give or take. As for distance I held the can it was probably 6 to 8 inches (which is what the can suggests). And Im not to sure what u mean by dry??? So what does the problem sound like to u guys?? Oh and by the way I used 220 grit sand paper.
