yeah i tried just painting the face of the rim but it looks shitty. i did mine on my e-blue car and it looks better in my opinion. i just didnt paint the whole spoke to the end so it look like it has a lip on it.
left the digital camera in the other car will post pics after 5pm. i just have pic with the spokes painted not the face only. its looks shitty bro trust me.

Well it is an all day project. I started taking the wheels off around 8 in the morning and put the final 2 on around 4:30 in the afternoon, however I did take some breaks. Taping probably took me about 15-20 minutes on each tire. The first one took alot longer than the other three since I messed up a few times.
how do u get some of the paint off? cuz my first wheel was pretty bad had to get use to painting with a can how can i get rid of the paint bubbles? to redew one of the wheels every0ther wheel looks great jus the first one is bad.
they make rim paint now..Ive seen it, at pepboys and autozone, atleast they did in my area. My friend with a focus did it to his rims and it turned looking like he had them done professionally.. they come in gunmetal and pretty much anycolor rims come in typically.

220 grit? whats the point of sanding then? thats not much grit!
You are not really trying to sand them, just scuffing the clear that is on them to give it some "tooth" I used Scotch-Brite and some AJAX kinda stuff on mine.....worked WONDERFULLY.....No problems at all to this day.....
damn, i should have read this before i did my wheels yesterday. when i pulled the tape off it did exactly what you said would happen. now i got to go back a touch it up
