Default How-To: Paint Fog Light Trim

How to paint fog light surrounds

stuff needed
1 bowl of water
1 sheet 400 grit sand paper
1 can spray primer
1 can high gloss clear coat
and from your local dodge dealer You can order a spray can version of your exact paint coat.

1st Step pop off the fog light surrounds they come right off there is three tabs holding them in.

2nd Step give the fog surrounds a good cleaning and wet your sand paper in a bowl with water, Take the sand paper and start to sand the fog surrounds down taking breaks in between to clean the sand paper off in the bowl of water.
Get the fog surrounds as smooth as you can and repeat for the other fog surround.

3rd Step dry off the fog surrounds and find a flat surface to lay them on,
Take the painting steps slowly take your time. Start off with the primer 1 coat then wait 5 mins apply another coat you wanna wait in between coats you go to fast your gonna get runs use the 5 min rule in between coats.2 coats of primer should be good you wanna make sure there is a good uniform coat.

4th Step the color step same method spray with your color coat slowly and take your time and give the paint enough time to cure so you wont get runs it well usally take 2/3 coats to get a good uniform color.

5th Step your ready for the clear I would add 2 coats of clear after all these surround are going to get bugs, rocks , dirt and everything else thrown at them again take your time and remeber the 5 min rule between coats Let them Dry and reinstall they pop right on

Finished product
