Default How-To: Night Shade Tails /3rd Brake Light (From Inside)

This is a write up on how to custom night shade the tailights for the inside out, The advantage here is your painting your tailight from the inside giving you no overspray or a bad painted surface the out side of the tailight will still be smooth as factory, and also you will be able to mask them off from the inside for a custom touch.

Things Needed:
An Oven
a can of Night shades
a roll of masking tape
a razor blade/ utility Knife
Butter Knife

STEP 1
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Place tailight 1 at a time on a cookie sheet with a towel between the tailight and the cookie sheet, check the tailight Ever 5 mins Untill they are soft enough to pry. Use a butter Knife to pry the tail lens from the housings right where the connecting tabs are, If Its doesnt pry easy dont force it or you well crack the lens.

STEP 2
You should have the lens separted from the housings like so

Now comes the fun part How do you want the tails to look????
you can :
A: night shade the whole tail gloss black in this case spray away from the inside of the tail with Night shades spray with light coats till you get the darkness wanted.

B:you can tape off with the masking tape just around the clear back up lens like so and trim then with light coats of nightshades paint to darkness wanted

C:you Can tape off the whole inside part of the circle of the tail
and paint that to the darkness wanted

ok after the tail is painted preheat the oven again to 200 degrees get the towel covered cookie sheet out, Place the lens where it needs to be over the housing just heat it enough to get warm and take out of the oven press the lens onto the housing into the connector tabs you well here a snap.
your good let it cool down for 15 min and install

One can is more than enough, you probably could do 5 sets of tail lights with one can. I was not able to take apart my side markers so I tinted them from the outside. Maybe connsrt has a better way?

ya the stock sidemarkers you cant get them apart, There simple just shoot them from the outside look at my sig I color matched mine EBLUE, But ya one can is way more then enough for the tails.
