First off this is not a how to install this is a how to make a big filter kit just like the ones sold for nearly double the price.
1st you need to get the gaskets to space the filter away from the oil pan
I just went down to my local stealership and picked 2 up for 11$. They will vary from 5$ to 7$ a peice depenting how much your dealer sells them for.
part number 04884000AAA
Next you need a filter just go to your car parts store of choice and pick up
one of these filters
i just got a mobil one because i use mobil 1 oil for my trans and engine oil
the part number is M1-301
the filter in most kits is a K&N HP-3001
the rest of these are the same size just a cross referenced part numbers

and 3 M6x1.00x30mm bolts you can pick them up at any parts store for about 2-3$
and there you have it
2 gaskets for around 11$
1 filter max 13$
a couple bolts for 2.50$
and there you have it all you need to make a big filter kit now all you have to do is use the search button and look up a big filter kit install and there ya go.
i claim no responseablity for engine damage due to improper installation, negligence, or pure stupidity
Use the 2 factory gaskets, then an additional gasket to bring the count up to 3. Remove oil cooler using a vice and a hex socket and throw both the middle part and the cooler away. Then install the 3 gaskets, with the above bolts/studs and torque down.
To "block off" coolant, just take the line coming IN to the cooler and bend it around so it goes into the line returning the coolant back to the block. Both are right next to each other.
Interesting, pretty much all your doing is getting the same spacer the stock one uses, doubling it up,getting longer bolts obviously since the filter will stick out farther now,and then just buy the bigger filter. What are the benefits of doing this anways?I mean...exactly HOW is this going to help my car?

Bro this has been discussed a hundred times. The factory oil cooler is a fairly large restriction on the oil system. By removing it, and allowing oil to be transported easier, you're lessening the load on your oil pump which is something you want to lengthen the longevity of obviously.
Can you post a picture of the gasket that is needed to go between the stock gaskets? If you just use 3 stock oil gaskets it will leak. Ptp uses a metal gasket to put in between so a leak doesn't occur.

DCR uses 3 stock oil gaskets. PTP's is an actual spacer, not a gasket. It's about a half-an-inch of aluminum with 2 holes in it. Not much to see, but it does its job.
I just did some research...looks like I should do this since ill be in 400WHP land here sometime soon.Ill do anything to put less strain on the oil pump.
If you're in the 400hp department, I'd also remove the balance shafts, add a windage tray and a good pickup tube (or remove the restriction from the stock one) for some added "ease" for the oil pump.
