Default How-To: Install Throttle Cable

This is pretty easy to do, but I didn't snap any photos while doing it.

1. move the drivers seat back to give you room to work under the dash.
2. floor the gas pedal to release slack in the cable and remove the clip that holds the cable to it. There are two tabs that you squeeze from the back to release it from the pedal.
3. Pull the clip located on the grommet on the inside of the firewall.
4. Pop your hood
5. Take off your air intake tube.
6. Take off your airbox if you're stock.
7. Remove the cable from the throttle body. You do this by pulling on the throttle cable to give yourself enough slack to rotate the cable end which fits into a slit in the throttle body cam.
8. Unclip the cable from the metal bracket that holds the throttle cable. There is a small tab that you need to pull to unlock it to slide it out.
9. Unclip the throttle cable from the radiator hose clip thingy.
10. Follow the cable back to the firewall just so you know where the heck the new one is going to go. You'll find it is located below and to the left of the brake booster. It's almost hidden by the heater core hoses.
11. Yank on the throttle cable. Yeah this is kinda ghetto but it's not like you're going to reuse it. If it's stubborn like mine, you'll rip everything but the grommet out. If that's the case, get back in the car under the dash and pull it out with some needle-nose pliers.
12. Feed the new cable back to the hole in the firewall and make sure you push the rubber grommet in the firewall before you push the plastic tip through it.
13. Hook up the gas pedal and put the clip back on the grommet on the interior of the firewall.
14. Make the goofy loop around the intake manifold and connect the cable end to the throttle body, then clip the cable sheath back into the metal bracket on the throttle body.
15. Re-clip the cable onto the radiator hose and check for any binding in the cable.

Thats about it. Hope it helps.
