This is a HOW TO for the GReddy Blow Off Valve. This HOW TO uses a GReddy Type S BOV with a hardpipe adapter. This HOW TO covers how to install with a stock BOV and surge valve system and a MOPAR BOV set-up. This is also in use with an aftermarket (AGP) wastegate. If you have a stock AIR INTAKE system this install may not fit for you. If you have any problems or you need me to explain a picture I have posted just shoot me and PM.
Items Needed:
GReddy Blow Off Valve
Hard Pipe Adapter or new Cold Side Pipe
2 Feet of Vaccume hose size 7/32 or 9/32 (Murrays $1.29 per foot)
(1) 1/4 to 3/8 vaccume reducer (Murrays $1.99)
(1) 2 pack of 1/4 vaccume nipples (Murrays $1.49)
Zipties (Murrays $5.99 for a bag)
(If your using a hard pipe adapter) (2) 3" hose clamps
Hi-Temp Silicone (Murrays $6.99)
10mm wrench
Hacksaw
IN ORDER IN WHICH I PERFORMED.
1. Remove your cold side pipe connected to the throttle body and intercooler. There is a red vac line and IAT sensor connected to it, don't forget to remove them. There is a hose clamp you need to loosen at the throttle body and intercooler also (gain access to the intercooler hose clamp from the bottom of the car by the drivers side front wheel.)
2. Once you have removed this the air intake system needs to be taken out so you can have access to the turbo.
3. Once your air intake is off, the pink VAC line going to the stock surge valve (in pink) needs to be removed along with the stock surge valve. There are 3 bolts holding it down (In green). The third bolt is tricky (where green arrow is pointing) but I got it out with a 10mm wrench and sticking my hands down under the turbo from the top of the car. When you get it off connect your block off plate where that was, if there is no gasket there seal it with HI Temp Silicone.
4. If your BOV is not already mounted to your pipe, then apply HI TEMP Silicone around the top of the adapter on the pipe, and connect it to the pipe VIA the two Allen screws. (Size 5 Allen wrench)
5. (IF YOUR USING A HARD PIPE ADAPTER) Once you got your stock surge valve, and pink vac line removed (from valve and solenoid) You need to cut of the black clips holding the hoses to the original plastic hard pipe (look at pictures for help on getting them off). Once you got the clips off remove the hoses and connect them to your new pipe. Add the 2 new hose clamps on top of the new hard pipe and tighten the hoses to it (originally where those black clips that you cut off were.)
Don't forget to take the rubber grommet off of the stock hard pipe and put it on yours. Then Attach back onto your throttle body.
6. (IF YOUR USING A NEW COLD SIDE PIPE ADAPTER) Simply connect your two ends of your pipe to the throttle body and intercooler, where the old one came off.
7. Take your 2 feet of vac line and connect it to the bov. You will need to trim it down once everything else is hooked up. The smaller port on the bottom can stay open (as seen.)
8. On the throttle body there is a TEE with one line running back to the brake booster, and one going to the solenoids originally connected to the stock air box. Remove the black line going to the solenoid and put in your 1/4 to 3/8 reducer. In the second picture, the green outline are the 2 vac lines I am talking about and how they are routed.
9. Connect the vac line from your BOV to the 3/8 part of the reducer thats connected to your throttle body, and connect your IAT sensor.
10. Put your air intake back on, make sure all bolts and hose clamps are tight, and enjoy. The Red vac line that you took off of the orignal hard pipe needs to be capped off at the solenoid, the black line you took off does NOT need to be capped off.
