could someoen tell me where the block off plate needs to go, i dont know where the stock piece is that needs to be covered, just a general area to look for it at, i think this might be why my bov doesnt seem loud
so after my shop played with it and after my friend telling me last night the valve was not closing the springs not stiff enought my place comes to me 3 hours as i sit there and wait need less to say they put a new one on and off i went 60 bucks later, also i still hear what sounds like a a whisle u think i should try tightening my bov greddy rs
greddys are the only bov to whistle like that i did a boost leak test my bov is on my cold side its just blowing off what little air is in the pipes my stuff does it all the time.

hey your bov is right next to the turbo its self. the vaccum line is the pink one connected to the bov. cap the pink one if your running a cold side bov like hks or greddy ect... well to get those bolts use a 10mm wrench not socket, but if you have those ratcheting wrenches saves you a tonof time!! make sure the engine is cold. there are three bolts holding the bov the far right one you might get with a socket the top one use socket and wrench, as for the far left the one next to the exaust manifold is a BITCH! what i did cuz im a little guy. i put my arm completly around and under the exaust manifold and with the 10mm wrench slowly like 1/4 inch turns turned that damn bolt. now once i loosened it i used my fingers to loosen it as much as possible then use the wrench if it became difficult. then it should come off. as for the BOV PLATE well get some RTV silicone and make a ring around the holes on the bov and on the edges to make a gasket to seal the bov plate so your not leaking anything. put the two eay bolts on first, but rtv sets quick but not too quick the the easy bolts in then get the hard one last. finally after they are tightened down. i put a small ring of rtv on the bov plate where it meets the turbo to ensure i do not have any leaks coming from there. ohh yea stock bov on srt's don't make any sound at all get one that would be your best choosing and what bov are you using now i might be able to help. i hope all this writing helps too!

thanks that was great! im new and have been getting a lot of good info on this forum thanks to member like you i really appreciate it, i had a turboxs bov mounted on the hot side(bought it like that) but ive heard you want them on the cold side, so i switched it to the cold side but i still think it could be louder, im going to go look now to see if the previous owner had a block plate on there or not
sure enough the stock on is on there still, looks like a block plate here i come!
your welcome man we are all a group and should stick together help each other out. yea i had exaust depot hard pipes hot and cold. get better clamps the t clamps that go with em are not that good i had my hot side blow off from the intercooler that sucked bad.

yea i had a problem when i had a mopar bov and my greddy on the cold side. i was not getting the whistle or the sound i was searching for. a easy step is go to the parts store and get a vaccum cap cap off the bov cuz it needs the vaccum to open and close that bov. with out it it should not blow off air. then when you get time. take the stock bov and use the block off plate like i described above. i think that there are kits to make your bov louder my buddy has one ill ask him
any tips for a HKS BOV. i too much time looking at all those vac lines. thanks to all you guys i have some what of a clue now.
really don't matter what bov you have the pink one you have that goes to the stock can be capped off. the red one goes to the cold side of the hard pipe. for my i bought a "Y" and tapped into the vaccum line that connects to my throttle body ran the other part of the "Y" to my bov. i really can't get to my car right now since im away from home, but ill post pics on how i set my stuff up to show you visiually how it looks.
what kind of clamps do you use and from where? im having problems with the clamps i got at a hardware store just with the stock piping, they keep coming off and i swear they are tight! im about to go fix one right now actually its pissing me off!

most ppl use the so called "T" clamps really to tell you they did not work for me at all i use the ones you use with a flat head screw driver. like the clamps that come with the stock pipes they work fine for me i used the stock clamps on the hot side for room reasons and to hold it on better, then i sued the "T" clamps i got from exaust depot for the cold side. i honestly don't think "T" clamps work well on the hot side. cold side yea i can go with that. um if u want good "T" clamps go to a napa parts store and get the regular clamps too.
i tied into the TB line and everything... i have the bop installed and the pink line is plugged. I have the greddy type s and i have some how lost psi... im at 10psi and my greddy isn't whistling... it makes a mopar sound... help please...

did you loosen the bov? you have to use like a 10mm to lossen the nut then use the allen wrench to loosen up the spring. it does make a noise but the RS makes a better noise because of that little horn it has on it. cuz i have a type "S" im buying a RS come payday. but once you loosen it it will make a better noise it makes a better noise when running higher boost levels
