ya i have the plate on... I found out what the problem was. I had to Cap 2 linesand now it works but it still isnt even close to being as loud as the mopar conversion kit. I mean its still quiet but it works. ive tryed adjusting the screw on the bov and it dont help much.
i got the same problem you had what lines did you cap off? and what did you do with the red one?
Bump.
I'm having the same issue with my HKS and AGP Hardpipe.

well think the opening in the hks or greddy bov is way bigger than the mopar bov converison so you wont hear it as much i had a type- rs on my car and it wasnt that loud

OK few questions. First, On the stock pipe there are two lines going into the pipe. One is red? Or is this the "pink" one that is talked about. The other...looks to be a sensor of some sort. My pipe does not have a hole for that...I will probably have to drill one huh? Is there a way to get the stock surge valve off any easier than taking off a bunch of stuff?

ugh... GET A NEW UPPER PIPE.. Dont drill... Be professional unless you got a fabrication master.. lol
Screw the pink line... Cap that B*tch.... it should work after.. Thats the only prob i had.. I didnt cap both the lines and when i did it worked.. It wasnt as long as it used to be but then again im used to it being so loud runnin at 23lbs of boost..

yeah u said cap "both" lines. i caped the pink line, but what other one am i missing. right now im only getting 4lbs of boost and im quite certain all my lines are right.

i just assume stay stock or just get a boomba bov it is a solid piece just 105 + shipping great price andless head ace bolts righton to stock bov unit
hey guys ill post some pics on here . i did a trial and error with the install of the greddy type "S" ill get some pics for people who need to see what they look like and capping the stuff off. i did this all last night with exaust depot hard pipes. well on the hot side i was testing it and it poped off. that got fixed quickly. well now that i looked at this forum i under stand now we have to tap in to the throttle body line. thats for the little tiny line coming out of your bov. the bigger one is for the pink vaccum line. i used the red vaccum line to connect to the hard pipe and used the OEM rubber gromet from the stock cold pipe for the sensor. and it fit the exaust depot bung perfectly. given a little rtv for it. i also stress when you put the gasket on like the other guys said in here use some rtv to seal it properly, and tighten down the screws on top of the bov so there is no chance of a leak. then adjust your spring to your liking. i used vaccum hose from ace hardware it was 5/32 size. when i bought my bov it came with some vaccum line i used that smaller stuff on the smaller nipple to tap into the throttle body vaccum line and zip tied it off. i also had to cut some vaccum hose to reach my bov from the pink line. i cut back enough so it was straight and zip tied both ends. i had a block off plate. but dark was upon me and i just used a 5/32 cap for the stock bov until i have time to take it off. ill post pics later today i hope this helps you guys
ok i have the greddy rs and have everything fulling on and tighten down, with zip ties, now i have started to tighted (harden) the bov but it sounds like a whisle still coming when i start up and it wineds down with the car, i believe its still loose i used to boost 17psi now 14 and looses after 14 dose this mean keep on tightening it
i would tighten down the clamps on the pipes too. and then tighten the BOV. i was actually leaking boost out of my lower IC pipe, i would hope ur BOV isnt leaking.
so after my shop played with it and after my friend telling me last night the valve was not closing the springs not stiff enought my place comes to me 3 hours as i sit there and wait need less to say they put a new one on and off i went 60 bucks later, also i still hear what sounds like a a whisle u think i should try tightening my bov greddy rs
hey guys well i have just a type "S" i loosen the bolt then use the allen key to loosen the bov. cuz my bov does not have the horn, mine makes a good whistle and even when im decellerating my bov. does whistle cuz its bleeding off the boost in the pipes. and the "s" had two nipples i only conected one. and well i tried taking the other one off. and it poped off. so im going to buy a RS but im holding boost with a stage 2 wga. and stage 1 pcm. up to 17 psi no problem. could be a boost leak somewhere else. think out side the box all the things that could go with boost leaks. like a work out vaccum tube. i have had to replace before . same with the mopar BOV plate. when i took the mopar bov and installed the block off plate i put some RTV to make sure i made a good seal with out no leaks. and put some around the edge so im not leaking there.
