Default How-To: Hide Injector Harness Wires

I thought I would make this how to for the people like me that hate it when theres wires running everywhere through your engine bay, lol. I decided I wanted to tuck my injector harness since my head looked pretty clean and since it seemed completely possible when I started brain storming how I was going to do it.Well I did it,so heres what you need.

Tools your going to need.

- Razor blade (to cut harness tape and pull out the wires farther)
- Zip ties (for a clean install)
- 10mm deep socket (to remove intake manifold bolts, there are 5 of them)
- Vice Grips (to remove spider clamp from radiator hose)
- 7/16 socket if you have t-bolt clamps on your cold side like I do,haha.
- 15mm socket to remove bolt that goes through the intake manifold and through the starter as well.
- A flathead or two, just some random tools that you might need.

Instructions.

1.) Disconnect battery terminal (negative),move to the side.

2.) Jack up the car,put it high enough so you have room to get under there to do the job.Look up under your intake manifold,to the left you will see a bolt (15mm) that your going to need to remove. This bolt supports the intake manifold to the starter, also is one of the bolts that hold the starter in place.Take that bolt out,now back up to the top of the car.(see pic, circled in Yellow).

3.) Remove your injector harness clips (plugs connected onto the injectors). Now your going to have to strip all that nasty black tape off of your injector harness so you can have some room to pull each injector harness out.(see pic). So what I did was I stripped the injector harness of all the black tape that was on there before, and pulled the wires out far enough to where I would be able to plug them back into each injector once the whole harness is tucked UNDER the intake manifold, get it? If you were to just try to tuck the harness without pulling the wires out any farther, they wouldnt reach. This is exactly why you have to do this.

4.) Make sure your car is cooled down enough to where if you turn the key to the accessory position, the temp should be on zero.

5.) Now grab your vice grips and take the spider clamp off the radiator hose at the opposite end of the hose, not at your radiator.I circled it in Yellow.(see pic). Brace yourself, coolant might squirt out a little bit.Just tuck this hose out of the way to give yourself some room to work.

6.) Remove your hardpipe (coldside). Not sure if you guys are using t-bolt clamps or hose clamps, but you get the idea.Take that shit off and put it to the side, lol.

7.) Remove the five 10mm bolts that hold your intake manifold to your head.

8.) Tuck the whole harness under the intake manifold and test fit it.You might get it first try,you might have to mess with it a couple times to get it the way you want.It took me a few tries since im a neat freak and I like things to be done the right way,not half-assed like my dad always told me. It should now look something like this once you bolt the intake manifold back onto the head.

So now you just need to make sure you get the wires long enough to reach each injector.I also re taped (electrical tape) my whole injector harness for a nice clean install. If you notice in this next picture,my injectors are turned like this...

< < > >

I put them this way because now you really cant see any wires but also because it looked retarded with a bunch of loops going through the top of my intake manifold (injector wires coming out of the clips) and the fitment was much better this way anyhow. If you want to do this, just loosen the bolts on your fuel rail and spin the injectors.Otherwise just run the wires to your injectors and plug them in.

NOTE!! Make sure you put each injector harness clip on the right injector, failure to do so will result in engine misfire and trust me...YOU WILL KNOW WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING!!

9.) Put everything back together and start her up!! Make sure everything is the way it should be and enjoy how much better your engine bay looks without this big whale penis harness running across the top of your fuel rail.

Before.

After.

Before.

After.

If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me.Also let me know if you think I forgot anything!! Later.

Too bad we can't hide the map sensor as well!

Would be nice if there was enough wire or a way to run that whole harness so it does not cross over the valve cover!

It does so with authority and poise, but while slipping relatively unnoticed through traffic, never being violent, or dare I say it, frightening. When you ask the SRT-4 to take you somewhere fast, it punches you in the face, throws you over its shoulder, and runs, screaming, so quickly that its tires can barely keep up."
