Default How-To: Depo HID Low Beam w/ Halogen High Beam

ok, this how to is to have low hid & still have a functional high beam.......

**Disclaimer**
I'm NOT responsible for any mistakes that you might have done during the install process.....

*Estimated time*
1-2hrs

Tools:

*wire cutters
*electrical tape
*solder (optional)
*quick connectors
*old dual bulb HIDs
*H7 HIDs
*knife or scissors
*patience
*flat head screw driver
*electrical tester

Step1:

Using the flat head screw driver pry the rubber grommet out of the hole.

Step2:

un-cap the dust cap from both the high & low beams outlet. Then unplug the high & low beam then cut the white & blk wire .(save the high beam plug.....you're gonna need it later)

Step3:

At this time you can install the low beam HID bulb. (*note* run the hid wires underneath the hook) Then run the hid wires (inside the headlamp) from the low beam spot to the hole where the rubber grommet was. After you're done you can re-install the dust cap on the low beam.

Step4:

Grab the old dual bulb hid bulb and using the electrical tester test to see wire of the wires coming from the high beam halogen bulb is the possitive and mark it. Then cut wire harness that you just tested it.

Step5:

Grab the blk & white wire harness that you previously cut at the beginning of the how to. The white is positive & Blk is the negtive. With that in mind you're gonna splice it using the quick connectors or solder to the wire harness that you cut from the old hid bulb and wrap it with electrical tape.

Step6:

Feed the modified harness (blk & white) through the hole and plug it into the high beam bulb.

Step7:

Grab you knife and cut a slit on the new rubber grommet which came with your new hid H7 bulb and feed the blk and wite harness through it. Then with the flat head screw driver you're gonna install the rubber grommet into the hole so, it'll be air tight.

Step8:

plug in your turn signal and hids and re-install the dust cap. Make sure they're working before you bolt it up into the car.

Step9:

Repeat steps 1-8 for the other lamp.

Step10:

Final outcome

High beam

Low Beam

take a look at the HID dual bulb harness(its the wires coming out of the bulb which connects to the ballast) & when you do....you'll see what I'm talking about...........if you don't want high beams then don't do it
