Default How-To: DCR Oil Flow Modifier

First off you start with the basic tools you will need.

(1) socket wrench
(1) socket extension
(1) 10mm socket
(1) 8mm socket
(1) torque wrench
(1) Latex Gloves
(1) Razor blade
(1) High Temp Sealant
(1) A cool engine (dont want to get burned)

1) First step, unplug the PCV system as shown below

2) Next, unplug spark plug wires and use 10mm socket to remove the four bolts that hold the coil pack as shown below

3) Remove the coil pack.

4) Next, you want to get your 8mm socket and remove all (9) valve cover bolts as shown below

MODERATOR EDIT:See post #2 for proper VC removal/Reinstall

5) Now that the bolts are removed, gently lift and remove valve cover without ripping gasket (we will be reusing the same one to put it back on)

6) You will see in the picture below, (3) bolts holding the cam shaft (next the the cam position sensor) Remove the (2) 10mm bolts and the (1) 8mm bolt, also you want to take the 8mm rear bolt from the cam sensor off. Once this piece is off, you want to get the razor blade and start scraping off the sealant...keep in mind where the sealant is, because we will be reapplying new sealant.

7) Next install the DCR Oil Flow Modifier in the oil journal location circled in red, gently slide in down with the cross drilled end facing down as shown below.

8) And there you have your DCR oil flow modifier installed! Next is to put that piece that you removed back on with a very thin layer of sealant(thin layer because we don't want any sealant going to where the oil flow modifier was installed). Torque the (2) 10mm bolts to 200 in/tq, and the (1) 8mm bolt to 125 in/tq. Next you want to install the bolt from the cam sensor back on. Once you are done with that we can now reinstall the valve cover, torque the (9) 8mm Valve cover bolts to 120 in/tq. Reinstall the coil pack and plug wires, next install the PCV system again. Once everything is connected and installed, turn car on and let it run until it reaches operating temperature, once that is completed you can drive away or turn off the vehicle. YOU DONE!

I hope the Write-up will help some of you out there! and if i missed something please let me know! THANKS!

- Dinesh

This should be helpful:

CYLINDER HEAD COVER INSTALLATION

CAUTION: Do not allow oil or solvents to contact
the timing belt as they can deteriorate the rubber
and cause tooth skipping.
(1) Clean cylinder head cover sealing surface.
(2) Install new cylinder head cover gasket and spark plug well seals.
(3) Apply Mopart Engine RTV GEN II at the
camshaft cap corners and at the top edges of the 1/2
round seal (Fig. 41).

NOTE: Inspect cylinder head cover fastener seal
washers. Replace as necessary.
(4) Install cylinder head cover assembly to cylinder
head. Install all fasteners, ensuring the double
ended studs are in their proper location. Tighten fasteners
in sequence shown in (Fig. 42).

Using a 3 step
torque method as follows:
(a) Tighten all bolts to 4.5 N?m (40 in. lbs.).
(b) Tighten all bolts to 9.0 N?m (80 in. lbs.).
(c) Tighten all bolts to 12 N?m (105 in. lbs.).
(5) Install nut securing coolant return line bracket
to cylinder head cover stud (Fig. 38).
(6) Clip wiring harness to cylinder head cover
studs (Fig. 37).
(7) Install ignition coil and connect spark plug
wires. Tighten ignition coil fasteners to 12 N?m (105
in. lbs.) (Fig. 37).
(8) Connect ignition coil connector.
(9) If the PCV valve was removed from cylinder
head cover, apply Mopart Thread Sealant with Teflon
to threads and install valve to cylinder head cover.
Tighten PCV valve to 8 N?m (70 in. lbs.).
(10) Connect PCV and make-up air hoses to cylinder
head cover (Fig. 37).
(11) Connect negative battery cable.

DCR Top end modifier

This is the original thread on it. I would go to that forum Darrell Cox Racing - SRT Forums - SRT4, SRT6, SRT8, SRT10 & Dodge Forum and ask those who used it if the manufacturer's performance claims were gained.

I have had mine for a while and do notice the car pulls from 5500 to 6200 a little smoother than it did stock and doesn't feel like the power drops off above 6000rpm.
