Default How-To: Custom Coolant Reservoir for Big Turbo/External Wastegate

Lol so today i installed my E1/EW manifold setup and i completly forgot that I needed a new coolant reservoir. So i thought of ways i could come up with one very quick. Well I happen to have some ceramic coating left over from when i did my manifold/dump tube & wastegate last night. I look around the shop and find this empty CASTROL oil quart jug.

#1 Find a CASTROL quart jug, reason this one works well is cus the picture on it is colors and not a sticker like other brands.

#2 Clean it real well inside and out with brake parts cleaner. The CASTROL picture will start coming off.

#3 Spray it down with flat black ceramic coating. Reason i didnt use paint is cus ceramic coating makes a nice thick coat after it settles within a minute or two depending on how thick of a coat you sprayed. Looks like its a castrol brand reservoir because of the CASTROL bubble lettering..LOL

#4 your all done!

Total price $6.99+ Tax for the can of VHT ceramic coating.

Heres some pics.....

Ok so heres how i see it:

Innovative: B
Quick decision in a tight situation: A+
Products effectiveness to do its job: D
Visual: D(i like the paint, but its an eye sore in the engine)
How this product affects the rest of the engine bay: F---

I just think if you go over a bump or bridge on the interstate at 70mph or god forbid your launch at the drag strip whats gonna happen if that has ANY fluid in it and falls down. Fluid on the track will definitly make you popular with the V-8 crowd.

Im sorry if i came off as a dick, but this should be used as a temporary fix to go the autozone and get a proper coolant overflow. Thats it. This just isnt safe.

LOL this is to funny...Nope not spraying anything and it holds itself pretty good. Like i said it was a 5min thing cus i neede my car running right away. The nice coolant bottle can come later. For the guy who said the autozone coolant bottles, I work there. good luck making them fit.

Yeah its ment as a quick and temp. fix..trust me ive seen guys with worse coolant bottles. The bottle is nice and tight and doesnt move whatsoever even on bumps and it surely wont pass inspection at the track.
