Default How-To: Change Engine Oil

Must lift front of car, ramps are safest i normally just use a jack on one side.

Parts:
Oil synthetic 5w-30 5 quarts
Oil filter number 3600 on some brands
13mm socket 1/2 driver works nice it can be tight
oil filter wrench
Oil drain pan
Paper towels

Directions:
for the srt it works best to take the filter off first,
you need an oil filter band wrench available at local hard ware store,
oil will leak once you loosen the filter place upside down to drain out.
Then the oil drain plug 13mm as already mentioned once you break the plug loose it works best to finish it by hand push in hard as you loosen it by hand if you do this even when you are done loosening the nut no oil will come out
then remove the nut and control the flow into your pan.
then tighten the nut back on.
Replace the filter putting a finger of oil on the filter gasket tighten the filter till it seats
then turn the filter 3/4 turn
then fill the oil run the car
check the oil making sure the level is correct.

that should do it sorry if that is overly noob.
