I just did my Home Depot Lip on Sat but I did a little variation to it. I didn't like how it stuck almost straight out when mounted underneath the bumper so I mounted it on the lower portion of the bumper and I think it turned out very well. Thanks for the how-to on the HDL and hopefully you guys like my variation. Maybe Home Depot Lip v2.0????
Dang you took my idea....... I was going to do that just because I couldn't find the hard rubber just the foam rubber. I think it looks good.
Thats what had happed with mine, It went outward instead of downward. I guess its just hit or miss with these garage door seals.
i think its in the way you place the tape, the thread starter put up an image of where the tape should be, did you put it on that way?
Notice on mine where the little lip is and where the tape is placed. I used to softer stuff, but wish i would have used the harder stuff.
No, thats how I did the tape on the seal. I used the harder stuff and it doesn't seem as flexible as the foam seal in the picture. Maybe thats whats causing it to bow outward. Its fine until I get around the curve in the bumper by the fog light then I'm fighting it to go around the curve, and it starts bowing out. I might try cutting some slits in the seal around the curve to allow it to curve easier. 3rd times a charm... We'll see. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get some more tape...
RUgoinUp 2 Heaven? Ever lie, steal, dishonor your parents, commit adultery, use God's name in vain? Those are only 5 of the 10 Commandments. Breaking 1 condemns you to Hell. Claiming to be a good person won't work in a court of law, nor will it when you stand before God. If you want Heaven, admit you're guilty and ask God to forgive you solely on Jesus' death on a cross. Then love God with all your heart, and love people too.
