When you unplug the side airbag seats ur airbag light will come on. I'm pretty sure the dealer can help you out there. If you can get that taken care of you can put in any seats you want.

I thought about getting the side airbags when I bought mine but decided not too after sitting in the regular seat and the airbag seats. The side airbag seats are no where as supportive on the sides as the regular seats.

Im a bigger guy and the viper seats hurt my sides. If your a smaller person I guess you'll like the vipers. I love the Airbag seats they are softer than the viper seats especially with my 50 mile daily trip to work. Oh and if you have a lowered car the Airbag seats take the shock of bumps better too....

if you have a wiring diagram its probley an easy fix. dont quote me on this but. i bet there is a normally closed switch in the side airbag wiring. when the seat is deployed it probley opens the switch contacts, triggering the airbag lite. it should be in a factory wiring diagram.

I did the swap and you will in fact have the light on. The EASIEST way to get the light off (other than removing the bulb) is to plug a 2 ohm resistor(VERY IMPORTANT that it is 2 ohm NO LARGER) into the air bag plugs under the seat. I have had mine done this way for about 2 months and NO LIGHT!!!

my question is - what do y'all do with your old side airbag seats? Cause I'll probably be in the market for 'em soon - Love the cars, hate the seats (girlfriend is refusing to sit in the front on test drives heh)

Can it be straight swapped in? (is there a side airbag plug on non side airbag models?)
