rev limiter

last nigt I had my first race aganist a 240sx on a road that was damp due to a afternoon shower. anyway, i had a good take off but, in 2 i got major tire spin and i redlined for about 5 or 6 sec. So, i was wondering if this will damage the motor. I own a 2005 srt-4 with no mods. Any replys would help fellow srt owners. I won by the way by 3 or 4 cars.

nope all is well, the limiter is there for a reason. just don't hold it that high all the time.

while racing i tend to smack my limiter 3-4 times before i realized it needs shifted. but obviously don't be dumb and go out and old it there for any period of time over like 5sec. like you might do in a burn out at the strip scenario.
