not too clear on how this works, is it the bottom or the top? im assuming you gain power because there whould be more air flow, and if you do gain power, how much is the estimated gain?
definately noticed a difference when i did mine. the only problem is that all the vacume lines just dangle. so i took the bottom part of the box out. drilled 2" holls on the bottom and back side of it and put it back in and put the filter in and then put the top on. and you cant see it at all but it definately picked up about 1lb boost -1.5lbs and it sounds WAYYYY better.
There are 5 10mm bolts holding the lid to the stock air box on, and two philips screws holding the sensors in place. If yoiu remove those bolts, and those two screws the lid will lift right off. I've had mine off for almost a month, and it sounds alot better than stock. I had originally planned on buying some sort of intake but there isn't any real hp gains in doing so, nor will you see a dramitic gain/loss in hp if you remove the airbox lid. I do reccomend getting a K&N drop in filter, it's only 45-50 bucks at autozone or somewhere like that.. hope that helps
