My 04 had the same problem.

I took it in and the service man said there is a problem with some internal part and they needed to be replaced with a newer part. Usually caused by trying to close the Sunroof while driving freeway speeds.

I can't recall if he said there was a Service Bulletin on it but he said he found out what needed to be replaced when he looked up to see if there were any issues.

There is a TSB... I have posted it up a few times. You can search for it, or even better... go to your dealer.

It usually happens from the pressures of opening it on the highway.

mine broke long ago, one of the arms that pops it open had broken, i was able to reach up with my finger and push it back into place, it at least allowed me to close the sunroof, it did scratch the paint on my roof also, dealer took care of it for free.
