Default How to tell if the car has stage 2

I'm currently looking to buy an 05 black srt4. i've been to the deaker ship to look at it and there is a stage 2 emblem on the back. I asked the dealership if it really has stage two or not. they have no idea. i know its terrible.. i'm just wondering how can i tell if it really has stage two or if the car just has the emblem. from being a owner of a civic si i know how some car owners advertise things that they dont even have on the car.. especially honda owners. any advise??

you need to check the ECU should said Stage 2, the wastegate have a nut, injectors have a blue tip, should a 3 bar sensors.

Yeah I would just get in the car,3rd gear high way pull.Run it all the way to redline (should be 6500 if its stage 2/3) if it only goes to 6250 then you know its stock! Also, watch the boost. It shouldn't be over 15psi if its stock.

Also this might be dumb, but u never know. Did you notice if it had any turbo toys in the inside by the radio??? If it doesnt have it still does not mean is not stage 2 it just means it doesn't come w/ the toys, but yeah easiest way is checking the ecu. Its right next to the driver side headlight wall and in between the throttle body and upper charge pipe. Good Luck!

i checked the ecu.. it didn't say anything so i'm just assuming it just has the badge. plus i wouldn't feel right taken it to redline and possible hitting the rev limit on the test drive.lol

jesus christ, yeah just rev the piss out of it and beat the ever living shit out of the car on your test drive ... that sounds like a good idea...

no really... the wastegate should have an adjustment screw on it if it has the stg2 wastegate... also the MAP and TIP sensors should be 3bar, which some say "test (something or another)" on them... i cant remember what mine say :-P... some of the injector orings are different colors but some say theirs are the same color as stock... the ECU should have sticker or something saying stage2, or a partnumber you can reference on this site to make sure its a stage2 ecu... you can also check the boost if you do decide to floor it... should be 20psi dropping to 15 near redline with stage2 if there are no boost leaks...

just put stage 2 on my car..... the top of the map sensor on the intake manifold will say "test sample" or somthing like that... stock has a # in that spot and the ecu will have a blue mopar emblem on it if it has any upgraded kind of pcm the factory will have reg letterls on it that can be read with the braket still on (where the pcm says "mopar stage 2 turbo upgrade" is hidden by this braket.

Your close, it says "eng sample" on it. That's the easiest way to tell.
