Put a muffler on it. *edit* Also it is not a problem you must have a staged upgrade. It pops or "back fires" cause your computer is still sending fuel when you let off the throttle. This is so you can do a wot shift with out losing boost, one of the stage 1,2,3 features.

i have a stage 1 upgrade, but since the computer is sending fuel still, does that mean i need a stand alone fuel controller or is there some other way to get rid of the backfire?

Not unless you want to spend 2g's. Change your exhaust and put a muffler on it. Look into maxx fab they have one with a magnaflow muffler that will make them more quite and less noticeable. Or you could always sell your car.

i didn't buy one to save on money, i just don't want the harsh sound, don't yell at me, i was just wondering if there was a way to have a sleeker sound, that's all

its what makes the SRT4 what it is man you dont want it to sound like a civic but if you do add some fuel by putting in bigger injectors or somthing and youll loose all your pops.
