Default Wastegate question

I am faily sure that the turbonetic 38mm wastegate won't be able to handle a hp66 without surge but will a 44mm one be able to? Is a 44mm the biggest one available that will fit your cast manifold?

Why would a wastegate be causing surge, curious what you're trying to accomplish.

All a wastegate does is create a controlled exhaust "leak" to prevent the turbine shaft from overspinning and creating more "boost". If you want to take an HP66 and run it at 5psi, you'll probably need a 44mm wastegate. Other than that, you should be just fine.
