Default I want your input, Ben

my car is smoking & everything checks out ... just threw a new longblock in the car a couple weeks ago, but I was getting some smoke before the new motor ... now, with the new motor it's progressively getting worse ... I'm thinking that it's the turbo but would like your input if you have time ...

smoking at idle & under vac

take a look at the fitting for my oil return in the picture in post #22 in that thread ... is it possible that fitting/tube is at too much of an angle & is causing some restriction?

just a re-cap:

- old motor, agp turbo kit with Garrett 60 ... no smoke

- old motor, CTI turbo kit with same Garrett 60 ... some smoke

- new motor, same CTI turbo kit with the same Garrett 60 ... some smoke on the first ~150 miles & lots of smoke now (at about 300-400 miles on the new motor)

my car smokes IDENTICAL to quickshifts car (who posted a vid of his car in this section a few weeks ago) ... it looks 100% identical to that ...

also, if you read that thread, I already took out the turbo & the turbine is bone dry

any input from you would be greatly appreciated

How does the inside of the manifold, or the head ports look?

Does it look like oil was coming out of the turbine wheel area at all?

smoking under decel might mean issues with your intake valves.

Ben posted in my other thread, which I posted pics in

there is oil in the manifold right where the turbo bolts up to it ... I haven't taken off the manifold just yet, I was hoping not to since it's a total PITA with my tubular mani

here's some pics...

the 2nd to last pic is of the manifold ... I don't see how oil would have made it's way down the tubular mani, back up though the mani & to the turbo & o2 housing ... I'm fully convinced the turbo is blown &/or the oil drain was causing this issue... I'm pretty sure the head is fine

here's the long ass thread...
