Default Boost Leak Help!!!!!!!!

I posted this up in the performance mod section, just trying to get help as quick as possible. Ok I was helping a friend do a boost leak test on his Srt-4. Well we found a lot of the leaks and was able to fix them but found one that was kinda odd. On the back of the turbo it was leaking air. I have never seen this before and neither has he. The turbo is a Delta 65 and he used a torque wrench as well to set it up the right way. So if anyone has any ideas to fix this PLEASE help. We tried to tighten the bolts but it seemed to make it worse.

Maybe you overtorqued the bolts, that looks like a lot of air.

We seal these up with Dow 111 compound when I assemble them. The compound doesn't dry until heat has been applied, so it gives the customer the ability to clock the comp housing, then call it good.

If you want run a really thin layer of silicone between the backplate and comp housing.

two flat machined surfaces when torqued properly will seal. If that doesn't work, a thin layer of silicone between the surfaces will.

Ok he wanted me to ask u a couple questions.
1. To silicone it would he loosen the bolts about an half inch then apply it inbetween or around it.
2. What kind of silicone is going to be able to with stand that amount of heat and pressure?
Again man thanks for all ur help on this.

1. I would make sure the housing is clocked the way you want it. Mark the housing with it on the turbo the correct position. Take the housing completely off, and run a really smooth SMALL layer of silicone around the mating surface of the housing. Really small layer.

2. Grey RTV will work just fine. It's really not that hot in that area.
