Default AGP-Adjustable WGA Problem

Ok. . I tried calling you guys about the problem and Ive read informational thread about installing/preloading/adjusting the WGA. But here is my problem. The fork on the WGA itself has to be broken. I have a had a performance shop take it apart and have a expert in the field look at it and he said that the fork that connects to the top of the WGA is in definite bad shape and that it will not work. The diaphram on the WGA itself is all in good shape but the thing that goes under my heat shield moves in all sorts of ways and from what I understand its supppose to be tight and motionless while on the car...its not when its put on mine. I want to send you back the WGA to see what you can do about it. Heres another problem, I purchased it a year ago from modernperformance.com and lost the invoice within the last 10 to 11 months. I do not have the WGA on my car so please let me know what I can do about this problem. I hope this was described as accurately as possible.

Not quite sure what a fork is on the wga. If you think there's a problem with the wastegate, feel free to send it back.

I dont know if its called a fork or like the WGA arm itself. But either way it moves about freely and they once it was on the car it would sit tight and it does not. I guess I will have to send it to you guys to take a look at it. I know its clearly messed up. But we will call it an arm now.

The first FAQ in our sticky above.

Quote:
The arm on the WGA flops around, is it broken?
No, there is nothing wrong with the wastegate actuator. It is perfectly normal for the rod to move when not under tension.

Yes I have read that already. And like I said before even under tension and when its connected and everything, IT MOVES FREELY. Thats why Im posting because I know something is wrong with it. Ive done searches before for it and found nothing.

Very hard to understand what you are describing. Post a pic and mark in MS Paint what is broken.

Edit: The arm on the WGA moves about freely, it says that it will tighten up once on the car. I put it on and it never got tight, it moves all over the place.

It will tighten up when you preload it. Like I stated earlier, if you think there is something wrong with it, feel free to send it in and I will check it out.

did you loosen the Jam nut and attempt to tighten the WGA by turning it towards the car cabin?

I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, I'm hoping we can go through all of the basic trouble shooting steps and eliminate possible problems before you have to send the WGA back and run the boring stock one on your car
